Job Opportunity – Critical Care Float Pool RN – Ohio

Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, Night shift. Contract must extend through January 2, 2027. Minimum every other weekend required. 36 hours of orientation provided.

Highlights:

• Float to a diverse range of critical care units including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, CVICU, and Cardiology/Diagnostics based on patient acuity and staffing needs
• Patient ratio of 2:1 across all shifts
• EPIC charting system utilized throughout the facility
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and social services
• Exposure to advanced critical care including transplant patients (kidney, liver, lung, heart) and complex multi-system organ dysfunction
• Float policy ensures assignment to units of equivalent or lower acuity

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (required)
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system
• Demonstrated competency in IV start, telemetry, and ventilator management
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, vasoactive drip titration, and blood product administration
• Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
