Description
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) per week. Rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Float capability required across multiple units as needed.
Highlights:
- Progressive Care Unit with a primary focus on stroke and neurological patient populations, including post-neurosurgery and traumatic brain injury cases
- Estimated patient ratio of 1:4
- EPIC charting system utilized throughout the organization
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and more
- Special procedures include TNK administration, lumbar drains, EEG monitoring, and craniotomy care
- Adult patient population with diverse medical-surgical and neurological diagnoses
Requirements:
- Valid Ohio RN license or compact state license (must be in hand at time of application)
- Minimum one year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Core clinical skills: blood product administration, heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, craniotomy care, CVA management, intracranial bleeds, post-TPA care, traumatic brain injury, isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration, and peripheral line management
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process required immediately upon contract signing
