Description
Start Date: August 24, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Weekend nights every other week; weekend shifts consist of Friday and Saturday nights (Sunday not considered a weekend). Rotation schedule approximately every 4 weeks based on unit needs. Block scheduling and paired scheduling not available.
Highlights:
- Estimated patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:2 in a specialized neurological intensive care environment
- Epic EHR system utilized for charting and documentation
- Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity within the organization
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Exposure to complex patient population including stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, neuromuscular diseases, meningitis, and post-operative neurosurgery patients
- Hands-on experience with advanced procedures including EVD placement, central line management, arterial line placement, and bedside tracheostomy
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Current certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
- Core skills required: IV start, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, intracranial pressure monitoring
- Proficiency with invasive neuromonitoring including EVD and ICP monitoring
- Experience managing mechanically ventilated patients and critical neurological conditions
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
- Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager, director, or supervisor
- Ability to complete urgent credentialing requirements including Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
