Job Description: Emergency Department Travel Nurse (ED RN)
Position Overview
We are seeking high-caliber, professional Registered Nurses for a 13-week assignment within a high-volume, comprehensive Emergency Department. Operating as a designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center, this facility treats over 60,000 patients annually. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional clinical competency, adaptability across varying patient acuity levels, and a strong commitment to a patient-centered care approach.

Compensation & Schedule
Rate applies to both travel and local clinicians

Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Includes every other weekend and holidays as required.

Block Scheduling: Highly likely to accommodate block shifts for preferred combinations (e.g., Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon).

Weekly Structure: Available for 36 or 48 hours per week

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Target Start Date: ASAP

Position Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience is preferred; however, a strict baseline of 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license will be considered. A minimum of 1 full year of dedicated experience in an Emergency Department setting is mandatory.

Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree required.

Licensure: Active Alabama (AL) or Compact/eNLC Nursing License in good standing. (Note: Temporary/provisional licenses cannot be accepted).

Required Certifications (AHA Only):

American Heart Association (AHA) BLS

American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS

American Heart Association (AHA) PALS

NIHSS Certification

TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Unit & Environment Details
Facility Footprint: Regional Medical Center Emergency Department — 54 beds.

Acuity & Ratios: Dynamically ranges from 1:1 for critical/trauma presentations to 1:3–1:4 for general emergency medicine cases.

Team Structure: 24/7 coverage supported by an integrated team of physicians, advanced practice providers (NPs), registered nurses, and dedicated emergency support personnel.

Floating Policy: Clinicians must be willing and flexible to float to other clinical units and affiliated system hospital locations based on real-time operational volume.
