12-hour shifts (Days/Nights or Night rotation). Rotating shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on department needs. Weekend shifts variable based on unit needs.Highlights:
- 36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 progressive care beds serving high-acuity patients
- Patient population includes solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses
- Patient ratios: 1:3 for PCU patients; 1:4-5 for Med-Surg Telemetry patients
- Epic charting system with modern equipment including Alaris pumps, GE telemetry monitors, and Stryker beds
- Oncology experience preferred but not required – nurses with ICU and PCU backgrounds excel in this environment
- 72-hour orientation with interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience (must be current within last 12 months)
- At least 1 year of high-acuity Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Current certifications: BLS (BCLS), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Graduate of ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Previous travel experience strongly preferred
- Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
Essential Skills:
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management
- Port access and blood product administration
- IV placement and heparin protocol management
- Cardiac drip management, PCA pumps, and drip titration
- Respiratory support: High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy management
- ABG interpretation and use of rapid response teams
- Feeding tube care, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
Preferred Skills:
- Chemotherapy administration and monitoring experience
- IV insulin protocol management and insulin drip titration
- Wound care and wound VAC management
- Arterial line management and surgical drain care
- Phlebotomy skills

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
