Description
Start Date: August 17, 2026
Location: Austin, Texas
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 13-week seasonal contract; 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM); rotating weekends; no call requirements
Highlights:
- Level IV high-volume Labor and Delivery unit with 32 beds
- Patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 based on acuity, with dedicated charge and co-charge nurses per shift
- Procedures include spontaneous vaginal deliveries, cerclages, cesarean sections, and TOLAC
- Meditech EMR system with advanced equipment including Novii, JADA, fetal pillow, IUPC, FSE, and toco monitoring
- Large collaborative team of 150 nursing staff providing exceptional maternal care
- Opportunities for permanent positions available for the right candidate
Requirements:
- Active RN license in Texas or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications
- Intermediate fetal monitoring certification required
- Demonstrated competency in EFM, sterile vaginal exams, and C-section circulation
- Navy blue scrubs required (solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts only; no t-shirts)
