Description
Start Date: September 21, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on staffing needs; goal patient ratio 1:4 (may be 1:5); variable weekend coverage based on unit needs
Highlights:
- Acute care unit specializing in newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients with medical/telemetry focus
- 24-bed unit with daily census of 22; adult and geriatric patient population
- High-volume blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
- Epic electronic charting system; GE telemetry monitoring system
- Strong interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, rapid response teams, respiratory services, and social services
- 72-hour orientation provided; may float to other Medical/Surgical Oncology units
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required; must be current and consistent within the last 12 months
- At least 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred; ONS Chemo certification preferred but not required
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Epic charting system experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
- Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role

Additional Information:

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
