Description
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45–07:15), 36 hours per week, minimum of 4 weekend days per 6-week time track with potential for every other weekend
Highlights:
- Regional referral and tertiary care center serving diverse patient populations across all age groups
- Patient ratios of 1:3-5 in a high-volume emergency department with approximately 250 visits per day
- 26-week contract in a 101-bed emergency department with 24 hours of orientation
- Epic EMR system with Pyxis medication management and structured shift huddles
- Floating required between Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on facility needs
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department nursing experience
- Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, MOAB
- Preferred Certification: TNCC
- Previous charge experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Core skills: IV start and maintenance, triage, telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKG acquisition
- Experience with ventilated patients, central line management, blood product administration, and procedural sedation
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
