Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 8-hour days, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; 40 hours per week; No call, no weekends, no float requirements
Highlights:- Specialized perinatal scanning for high-risk pregnancies with maternal-fetal medicine focus
- Perform level 2 detailed anatomies, growth scans, biophysical profiles, Dopplers, nuchal translucency, and fetal echocardiography
- Work with GE equipment and Epic charting system in an outpatient setting
- Average daily census of 50 patients across 8 exam rooms
- Monday-Friday schedule with no call or weekend coverage required
- 13-week assignment with limited time-off options available
- Minimum 2 years of ultrasound experience required
- ARDMS OB/GYN certification and BLS certification required
- Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
- Epic charting system experience required
- High-risk OB and obstetrics experience in an outpatient setting
- Proficiency with GE ultrasound equipment
- General ultrasound skills: abdominal aorta and appendix
- OB/GYN expertise: 1st-3rd trimester scanning, amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical surveys, and placenta previa assessment
- Neonatal head and heart scanning experience
- Experience with MCA and UA Dopplers, Viewpoint, and fetal echocardiography
- North Carolina or Compact state license (pending acceptable at submission)
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Must be available for flexible start day (Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday) during first week
- Completion of pre-start online modules (approximately 4-5 hours) required before first day
- Portable ultrasound experience
- Additional general ultrasound: liver, pancreas, pediatric abdomen/pelvis, and spleen
- Amniocentesis procedure experience
- Renal/pelvis imaging: bladder, hernia, ovaries, prostate, renal/bladder, uterus, and vaginal
- Small parts scanning: breast cyst aspiration, breast ultrasound, superficial masses, testicles/scrotum, and thyroid
This position offers the chance to specialize in maternal-fetal medicine and high-risk obstetrics while maintaining a predictable weekday schedule with no call or weekend requirements. You'll work with a diverse case mix including chronic hypertension, gestational diabetes, growth restrictions, and fetal abnormalities, allowing you to utilize advanced scanning skills in a supportive outpatient environment. The role provides an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the care of high-risk pregnancies while developing expertise in detailed anatomical surveys and specialized diagnostic procedures.
Additional Information:This assignment includes a 40-hour orientation (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM). Candidates should note that the exact start date is subject to change based on facility scheduling and trainer availability, with final confirmation provided the Tuesday prior to the start week. Royal-colored scrubs are required but not provided. Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a different rate structure. Up to 7 days of pre-approved time off may be available (no holidays), and no additional time off can be requested after contract signing.
