Description
Start Date: August 31, 2026
Location: North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 hours per week. Minimum of 4 weekend days per 6-week schedule, potentially every other weekend. Float requirement between Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on departmental needs.
Highlights:
- High-volume Emergency Department with 250 visits per day and 101 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-5
- 26-week contract assignment at a regional referral and tertiary care center
- EPIC charting system with Pyxis, SBAR protocols, and daily shift huddles
- 24 hours of unit orientation provided
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, MOAB, and CPI
- TNCC certification preferred
- Proficiency in IV insertion, triage, and telemetry monitoring
- Experience with EPIC charting system required
- Must successfully pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
- Skills required: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV vasopressor administration, and isolation precautions
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
