Description
Start Date: August 31, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week, day shift; 1:5-6 patient ratio; 12-16 weekend shifts per contract
Highlights:
- Neurosurgical and neurological patient population with diverse case mix including CVA and post-surgical neuro care
- Epic charting system with Pyxis medication dispensing and SBAR communication protocols
- 13 to 26 week contract lengths accepted with flexible scheduling options available upon request
- 36-bed unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, and therapy services
- Two orientation shifts on unit following hospital-based orientation
- Floating within facility required; storm team and emergency response participation expected
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of registered nursing experience
- Active North Carolina or Compact State RN license
- BLS certification required; ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI preferred
- Neurology or medical-surgical experience strongly preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Skills in telemetry monitoring, IV starts and maintenance, isolation precautions, and non-invasive airway management
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Ability to work 2 of 3 major holidays and be available during emergency or disaster situations
