Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week. Every other weekend required. Float requirements apply based on unit needs.

Highlights:

• Comprehensive Stroke Center specializing in ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, craniotomies, aneurysm management, and complex neurological conditions
• Patient ratios of 2:1, may flex to 3:1 during high census periods; average daily census 11-12 patients
• Advanced neuro equipment including EVDs, lumbar drains, Camino ICP monitoring, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• 24-hour orientation program (2 shifts) with experienced unit staff
• 13-week contract duration available through late February

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of dedicated Neuro ICU experience required (general ICU experience does not qualify)
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• North Carolina or Compact nursing license
• Core skills: ventilator management, IV starts, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, EVD and lumbar drain management, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery care, and isolation precautions
• Strong experience with stroke patient population essential
• Arterial line management experience preferred
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
