Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio; 36-hour orientation provided; unit maintains 32 beds with interdisciplinary support including Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams

Highlights:

• Progressive Care/Stepdown unit serving diverse patient populations including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Comprehensive case mix including telemetry and dysrhythmia management, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, renal failure management, and tracheostomy care
• EPIC charting system with full interdisciplinary support services on-site
• Opportunities to utilize advanced critical care skills including IV insulin and heparin protocols, blood product administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Access to Rapid Response Teams and collaborative patient care environment
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, central line management, and ventilated patient care

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Experience with 1:4 patient ratios in PCU/Stepdown or Medical-Surgical/Telemetry settings
• Previous ER experience (ER observation/holding or MS/Tele required)
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Graduation from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required (one must be from formal leadership/management)
• Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
