Description
Start Date: September 21, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, Night shift. Minimum every other weekend required. Contract must extend through January 2, 2027.
Highlights:
- Float to multiple critical care units based on patient acuity and staffing needs, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, CVICU, and Cardiology/Diagnostics units
- 2:1 patient ratios across all shifts with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and more
- EPIC charting system in use; 36 hours of orientation provided
- Work with a diverse patient population including transplant patients (kidney, liver, lung, heart) and complex medical/surgical cases
- Float only to units of equivalent or lower acuity based on established protocols
- Daily census of 900+ beds across a major academic medical center
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (required)
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system
- Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management
- Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
- COVID-19 vaccine not required; Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
