Description

September 2026 (flexible start dates may be Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week based on orientation scheduling)

Schedule:
8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Call requirement: one day per week on rotating schedule (Tuesday/Thursday/Monday/Wednesday/Weekend rotation). Weekend requirement: approximately one weekend every 6-7 weeks. 40 hours per week available. Minimum 13-week assignment.
Highlights:
- Advanced interventional radiology department with comprehensive case mix including stroke intervention, intracranial embolization, chemoembolization, vascular stenting, and complex abdominal/pelvic procedures
- State-of-the-art equipment: GE Innova Single Plane and Siemens Artis Biplane systems with fluoroscopy
- Epic electronic medical record system with PACS integration
- 650-bed facility averaging 450 daily census with approximately 20 IR visits per day across 3 procedure rooms
- Comprehensive orientation: 40 hours of structured onboarding with experienced team
- Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
Requirements:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ARRT CI and ARRT VI certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology and Special Procedures experience required
- Previous travel healthcare experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
- Epic charting system experience required
- Previous stroke-certified hospital experience strongly preferred
- North Carolina state license or compact license accepted
- Extensive procedural competencies required in abdominal/pelvic interventions (angioplasty, embolization, IVC filter placement/removal, mesenteric angiography, renal angiography)
- Genitourinary procedures experience required (nephrostomy, biliary drainage, ureteral stent placement, uterine arterial embolization)
- Neurological intervention skills required (carotid angiography, embolization, stent placement, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, vertebroplasty)
- Vascular procedures expertise required (angioplasty, carotid stenting, central venous access, TIPS procedures)
- Proficiency with fluoroscopy equipment operation and maintenance required
- Experience in sterile technique, room circulation, scrubbing, and maintaining sterile fields required
- 3D imaging, isolation precautions/PPE, and lead tech experience required
- Must be fully available during first week with flexibility for orientation schedule changes
- Maximum 7 days of requested time off; additional time off after booking is not permitted
