Description
Start Date: August 17, 2026
Location: Georgia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Every other weekend required; 12-hour shifts with 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio; no call required; maximum 7 days requested time off per contract
Highlights:
- Specialized 10-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit caring for adult to geriatric population
- Advanced patient population including LVADs, intra-aortic balloon pumps, Swan-Ganz catheters, temporary pacemakers, and CRRT
- Multidisciplinary rounds with intensivist Monday through Friday at 10 AM; intensivist present in unit weekdays
- Epic EMR system with supportive interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Free charge nurse model with typical 2-patient assignment; autonomy to titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and sedation
- Comprehensive orientation with 24 hours of paid training to ensure successful integration
Requirements:
- Active Georgia or Compact RN license required at time of submission
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent cardiovascular ICU or critical care experience
- Proficiency managing complex cardiovascular patients including post-cardiac surgery, CABG, valve repair/replacement, and TAVR patients
- Experience with arterial line management, pulmonary artery catheter monitoring, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary care teams
- Full compliance documentation required prior to start date
