Location: Crosby, ND
Schedule: 3x12 Straight Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (36 Hours/Week)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Overview
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) in a Critical Access Hospital setting provides immediate triage, stabilization, and comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all age groups presenting with acute medical, surgical, and traumatic conditions. Operating in a small-facility environment, this role demands exceptional autonomy, clinical adaptability, rapid decision-making, and strong collaboration with on-call physicians, mid-level providers, and emergency medical services (EMS).

Key Responsibilities
Emergency Triage & Assessment: Rapidly perform initial patient assessments, prioritize care based on clinical acuity, and initiate emergency treatment protocols.
Critical Resuscitation & Care: Administer emergency medications, manage advanced airways, perform trauma resuscitation, and monitor life-support equipment for unstable or critically ill patients.
Critical Access Versatility: Provide comprehensive emergency care across all populations (pediatric through geriatric) and assist with patient stabilization prior to transfer to tertiary care centers when needed.
Patient Monitoring & Documentation: Continuously track vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and response to interventions while maintaining precise EMR documentation.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with emergency physicians, mid-level providers, laboratory/radiology personnel, and EMS to streamline patient throughput and transfer logistics.

Position Qualifications
Mandatory Certifications & Licensure
RN License: Active North Dakota RN License or active Compact / Multi-State Nursing License.
BLS: Active Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
ACLS: Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
PALS: Active Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
TNCC: Active Trauma Nursing Core Course certification.

Preferred Experience
Critical Access Experience: Prior experience in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) or small emergency department setting is highly preferred.
Specialty Nursing: Minimum 1–2 years of recent acute care Emergency Department experience.
