Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Patient ratio 1:3-4. Contract length of 13 weeks or longer available.

Highlights:

• ICU Stepdown unit with high-acuity patients including post-rapid response, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, and complex post-operative care
• Strong critical care drip experience required - unit manages vasoactive medications including Levophed, Dopamine, Cardizem, Precedex, and Cardene
• 20-bed unit with average daily census of 18 patients, serving adolescent through geriatric populations
• Epic EMR and Pyxis medication system
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Floating to sister ICCU unit as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of progressive care, stepdown, or IMC nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• North Carolina or Compact RN license
• Strong proficiency with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips mandatory
• Experience with telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management required
• Competency in blood product administration, central line management, conscious sedation, and IV insertion
• Experience with chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
