Description
Start Date: August 31, 2026
Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Patient ratio 1:3-4. Contract length of 13 weeks or longer available.
Highlights:
- ICU Stepdown unit with high-acuity patients including post-rapid response, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, and complex post-operative care
- Strong critical care drip experience required - unit manages vasoactive medications including Levophed, Dopamine, Cardizem, Precedex, and Cardene
- 20-bed unit with average daily census of 18 patients, serving adolescent through geriatric populations
- Epic EMR and Pyxis medication system
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
- Floating to sister ICCU unit as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of progressive care, stepdown, or IMC nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- North Carolina or Compact RN license
- Strong proficiency with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips mandatory
- Experience with telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management required
- Competency in blood product administration, central line management, conscious sedation, and IV insertion
- Experience with chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
