Description
Start Date: September 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants (local candidates within 50 miles: adjusted rate applies)
Schedule: Thursday through Saturday, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts, no call required)
Highlights:
- Comprehensive MRI imaging across multiple anatomical areas including neuro, MSK, body, and vascular studies
- Work with advanced GE and Siemens MRI equipment utilizing PACS technology
- Epic EMR system for documentation and workflow management
- 12 hours of unit-specific orientation following initial hospital orientation week
- Float opportunities to expand experience across related imaging departments as needed
- Stable weekend schedule with exposure to diverse patient populations including adult acute care, ICU, outpatient, and ER/trauma
Requirements:
- ARRT MR and ARRT R certifications required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience required
- North Carolina state license or Compact license (pending acceptable for submission)
- Proficiency in starting peripheral IVs and preparation/administration of contrast media
- Experience with a wide range of MRI protocols including abdomen, pelvis, neuro, MSK, chest, and specialized studies (MRCP, MRA, MRV)
- Competency in advanced imaging techniques including diffusion, gradient echo, spin echo, surface coils, and image post-processing
- Epic charting system experience required
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Completion of pre-start online modules (8-10 hours) using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
- Full availability during orientation week with flexibility for potential schedule changes
- Willingness to be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team and report during catastrophic events or disasters
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with abdominal MRA/MRV, lower extremity runoffs, perfusion studies, and thoracic MRA
- Familiarity with specialized protocols including CINE studies and TMJ imaging

Additional Information:
Pre-approved time off is available (up to 7 days, excluding holidays). Candidates must work 2 of 3 major holidays as scheduled. No time off requests permitted during the first week or after contract signing. Former employees of the facility system must wait 12 months before applying. This position requires flexibility and commitment to the full orientation schedule, with final start dates confirmed the Tuesday prior to the start week.
