Description
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week. Patient ratios of 1:5-6. Weekend requirement of 12-16 shifts per contract. Floating within the facility required.
Highlights:
- 13-20 week contract assignments available with comprehensive 24-hour unit orientation
- Diverse patient population including medical-surgical diagnoses, telemetry, diabetes management, stroke care, and post-surgical patients
- Advanced clinical skills including remote telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, insulin protocols, wound care/wound vac, chest tube management, and high-flow oxygen therapies
- State-of-the-art documentation and medication systems including Epic EMR and Pyxis
- Robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and phlebotomy
- First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome (rate differential applies)
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience in Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry settings
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
- North Carolina RN license or compact state license
- Proficiency in Med/Surg nursing, telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, wound care, respiratory support equipment, and isolation precautions
- Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
- Experience with heparin protocols, insulin administration, IV starts, blood product administration, and phlebotomy required
- Epic charting experience strongly preferred
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Ability to work during catastrophic events or disasters as part of storm/hurricane response team
