Start Date: September 28, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 1845-0715, 36 or 48 hours per week; 1:6 patient ratio; every other weekend required

Highlights:

• 13-20 week contract opportunities available with comprehensive orientation (24 hours)
• Medical-Surgical and Telemetry unit caring for diverse patient populations including diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, CHF, renal failure, and post-surgical patients
• Advanced skill utilization including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, remote telemetry monitoring, wound care/wound vac, chest tube management, and blood product administration
• Self-scheduling system with up to 7 days of requested time off per contract
• Float requirements may include nearby campus locations; storm team/hurricane team participation required
• EKG testing required prior to start; 24-hour unit orientation provided

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS and Telemetry certifications preferred
• Proficiency in IV therapy, central line management, PICC line care, and phlebotomy
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, and pre/post hemodialysis care
• Competency with medication management including heparin, insulin, and PCA
• First-time travelers accepted; charge experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Ability to work 2 of 3 major holidays and participate in emergency preparedness protocols
