Description
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights or rotating based on unit needs); variable weekend coverage; 16-week assignment; staffing ratios goal 1:4 (may be 1:5)
Highlights:
- Mixed acuity Surgical Oncology PCU caring for both progressive care and medical-surgical patients on a busy surgical floor
- Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients with breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal cancers, and reconstructive plastics cases
- Procedures include chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, oncologic emergencies, insulin drips, heparin drips, and chest tube care
- Epic EMR system; GE telemetry monitoring with focus on infection prevention and fall prevention protocols
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Floating may be required to other acute care oncology units within scope of practice
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of PCU experience (must be current and consistent within the last 12 months)
- Valid Compact or Ohio RN license in hand at time of application
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Preferred Certification: ONS Chemotherapy
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- 2 professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Additional Information:
- Orientation: 72 hours provided
- One pre-approved time off period available per contract
- Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; if accepting a rotating contract, you may work days, nights, or a combination based on departmental needs
- Ohio fingerprinting required and must be completed urgently upon contract signing; strict compliance deadline applies
- Former facility employees eligible after 6 months away; current employees ineligible
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
