Description
Start Date: September 21, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, weekdays and some weekends with rotating holidays
Highlights:
- 30-bed Surgical Progressive Care Unit specializing in vascular and cardiac surgery patients
- Patient ratio of 1:3 providing focused, quality patient care
- Lower acuity cardiac unit; cardiac experience strongly preferred
- Epic EMR system utilized throughout the facility
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- 36-hour orientation to ensure successful onboarding
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Demonstrated proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
- Epic charting system experience required
- Valid compact or Ohio state RN license in hand at time of application
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity
- Two professional references required (one must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role)
Patient Population & Clinical Experience:
- Adult and geriatric patient populations
- Post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients including CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, vascular stents/grafts, AAA repairs, lower extremity bypass, TEVAR/EVAR, carotid procedures, and post-lung transplant
- Secondary diagnoses may include GI bleed, renal failure, airway disease exacerbation, diabetes mellitus, pneumonia, sepsis, and heart failure
- Experience with arterial lines, telemetry, chest tubes, sheaths, PCA pumps, epidurals, wound vacs, and surgical drains
