Description
Start Date: September 28, 2026
Location: Coastal North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 1845-0715, 36 or 48 hours per week; 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio; Every other weekend requirement; Float to nearby campus as needed (approximately 32 minutes away)
Highlights:
- Med/Surg and Telemetry combined unit with diverse patient population including diabetes, COPD, CHF, sepsis, renal failure, post-surgical recovery, and stroke patients
- 13-20 week contract lengths accepted; First-time travelers and local candidates welcome
- Comprehensive skill set utilized including remote telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, wound care/wound vac, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, PICC lines, and central line care
- 24-hour unit orientation provided; Pyxis medication system; Self-scheduling model
- Up to 7 days of requested time off per contract; Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Storm team assignment may be required during catastrophic events or disasters
Requirements:
- Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
- BLS certification required; NIHSS certification required
- Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date
- ACLS and Telemetry certifications preferred
- Charge experience strongly preferred
- Core competencies: telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, IV therapy, bowel/ostomy management, feeding tube care, pre/post hemodialysis management, central and PICC line care, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula), wound care, and isolation precautions
- Willingness to float to affiliated campus location as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
