Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week. Weekend requirement: minimum of 4 weekend days per 6-week time track, potentially every other weekend. Floating required between Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on departmental needs.

Highlights:

• High-volume emergency department serving a regional referral and tertiary care center with approximately 250 visits per day and 101 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3-5 in a fast-paced, comprehensive ED environment
• EPIC charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• Contract length: 20-26 weeks with 24 hours of orientation provided
• Diverse patient population spanning all age groups including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• Previous charge experience required
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, MOAB
• Preferred certification: TNCC
• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
• Experience with EPIC charting system required
• Core competencies: IV starts, triage, telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, emergency medications, procedural sedation, blood product administration, and management of ventilated patients
• Ability to manage diverse patient presentations including stroke, STEMI, trauma, psychiatric holds, overdoses, and acute psychosis
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• First-time travelers accepted
