# Job Opportunity – PACU Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: August 31, 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 8-hour day shifts (either 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM), 4x8 or 5x8 schedule options available. No call requirement. No weekend requirement. Average daily census of 40 patients across 9 beds.

Highlights:

  • Ambulatory/outpatient surgery center setting specializing in ENT and ophthalmology procedures
  • All age groups: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  • Common procedures include tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, sinus surgery, and cataract extraction
  • 3-day unit orientation provided with scrubs supplied
  • Contract runs through November 25, 2026
  • May float to nearby ambulatory surgery centers as needed (rarely required)

Requirements:

  • Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
  • Ambulatory/outpatient experience required
  • Proficiency in IV therapy: starting and maintaining IVs
  • Pre/post-op care experience: discharge instructions, medication reconciliation, obtaining operative/procedural consent
  • Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia protocol and pain assessment and management
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
