Description
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Location: North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend required, per unit needs scheduling
Highlights:
- 26-bed Neuroscience and Surgical ICU within a comprehensive stroke center
- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 2:1, occasionally 3:1 or 1:1 based on acuity
- 13-week assignment or longer, with contracts extending through February 27
- Electronic charting via EPIC; medication dispensing via Pyxis
- Float opportunities to other ICU and intermediate care units
- 24 hours of paid orientation to ensure successful onboarding
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Demonstrated expertise in ICP monitoring, ventilator management, telemetry, stroke management, and seizure management
- Proficiency with critical care skills including titrating vasoactive and cardiac drips, EVD management, arterial lines, central lines, and invasive equipment
- Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
