Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required; 1:4 patient ratio on a 36-bed Neuro/Stroke PCU unit with an average daily census of 30 patients; floating within facility/scope of practice as needed; no call required

Highlights:

• Neuro/Stroke Progressive Care Unit specializing in respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical patients requiring continuous telemetry monitoring
• Hands-on experience titrating cardiac drips and managing PCU-level acuity patients
• Epic EMR with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and rapid response teams
• Patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics with diverse diagnoses including CVA, traumatic brain injury, and pre/post neurosurgery care
• Up to 7 days of requested time off available (excluding Spring Break blackout dates: April 4-12)

Requirements:

• Active Georgia or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring, titrating cardiac drips, and managing vasoactive medications
• Proficiency in Epic charting system preferred
• Competencies required: blood product administration, central line care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ventilator support (BiPAP/CPAP), high flow nasal cannula, heparin protocols, tracheostomy care, and isolation precautions
• Full compliance documentation required prior to start date
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
