Description
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Location: North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available. 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio. 8 weekend shifts required per contract. 13-week assignment or longer (through late February end date). Floating required within facility.
Highlights:
- Dedicated cardiac telemetry unit with average daily census of 23 patients
- Complex cardiac patient population including MI, ACS, arrhythmias, heart failure, post-catheterization, and cardiac device patients
- Management of cardiac drips (no blood pressure titration required)
- 3-day orientation including EPIC training and unit-specific onboarding
- Collaborative team environment with strong interdisciplinary support including IV team, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
- First-time travelers welcome with appropriate stepdown or telemetry experience
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Cardiac telemetry experience is mandatory for this cardiac-focused unit
- Stepdown/Progressive Care/IMC experience strongly preferred
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with cardiac drip management, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
- EPIC charting system experience preferred; PYXIS and SBAR familiarity beneficial
- North Carolina or Compact State RN license (pending acceptable for submission)
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- EKG competency testing required prior to start date
