Description
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (approximately every other weekend). Contract lengths of 13-26 weeks accepted. Floating required as needed and may occur every shift.
Highlights:
- Cardiac telemetry and progressive care unit specializing in congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac catheterization patients
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on a 42-bed unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support
- Advanced cardiac nursing skills required including dysrhythmia interpretation, remote monitoring, cardiac drip titration (Diltiazem, Amiodarone), and sheath removal
- Pre/post cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery experience essential, along with blood product administration and central line management
- EPIC documentation system with 24-hour orientation provided
- First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry AND PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
- ACLS certification required; BLS required; NIHSS preferred
- Demonstrated experience with interpretation of dysrhythmias and remote monitoring
- Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization, pre/post cardiac surgery, and sheath removal procedures
- Proficiency in accessing ports, blood product administration, central line/PICC line management
- Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Flexibility to float within the facility as needed
- Availability to serve on Storm Team/Hurricane Team and report during catastrophic events or disasters as required
