Description
Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36-hour weeks with every other or every third weekend required. Patient ratio 1:3.5. Float pool rotation required. Comprehensive 36-hour orientation provided.
Highlights
- Fast-paced emergency department with 115 beds, 86 treatment rooms, and approximately 210 daily census
- Level I Trauma Center with stroke-certified and STEMI-certified designations preferred
- EPIC documentation system and Pyxis medication management
- All age groups treated: pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Interdisciplinary team support including respiratory services, pharmacy, interpretation services, and unit secretaries
- First-time travelers accepted with local candidates also eligible
Requirements
- Active Ohio RN license or compact license (required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required
- Experience in Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facilities preferred
- Proficiency in triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, trauma care, psychiatric holds, and pediatric emergency care
- Skills required: arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, IV vasopressors, 12-lead EKG, phlebotomy, IV insertion and maintenance
- Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required

Important Information
Compliance & Credentialing: Ohio fingerprinting is required immediately upon contract signing. Strict compliance deadline of the Tuesday prior to start date with no exceptions. Candidates must be responsive and cooperative throughout the credentialing process.
Parking: Multiple parking options available ranging from $16.35 to $224.80 per month, with 24/7 access and shuttle services depending on permit type selected.
Eligibility: Former employees eligible after 6 months separation. Current employees at any location within the health system are ineligible for travel positions.
