Description
Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day: 0700-1930, Night: 1900-0730) with every other weekend rotation and holidays as needed. Orientation: 20 hours.
Highlights:
- Work in a fast-paced, 28-bed acute care medical-surgical/telemetry unit caring for adults and geriatric patients with complex medical diagnoses
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Patient population includes general internal medicine, geriatrics, infectious diseases, and special pathogens
- Epic charting system experience required; unit supports high-quality patient care and medical education
- Magnet-designated teaching facility recognized as one of the nation's leading hospitals and referral centers
- Float to like units as needed; daily census of 28-29 patients
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start with strict passing criteria (100% identification of lethal rhythms, no incorrect answers on 3rd-degree heart blocks, and 80% overall passing score)
- Proficiency in skills including telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, blood product administration, central/PICC line care, IV insulin protocols, isolation precautions, and use of rapid response/code teams
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
