Description
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Patient ratio of 4:1. Unit census of 32 beds serving all age groups including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Highlights:
- Emergency Department holding/observation unit with diverse patient population across the full lifespan
- Epic charting system utilized
- First-time travelers welcome; minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
- Trauma-level experience preferred; community hospital and LTAC backgrounds valued
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in ER, ER holding, medical-surgical, or telemetry settings
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS (current and valid)
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, vasoactive drip management, arterial line management, and ventilated patient care strongly preferred
- Two professional references required: at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor; charge nurse acceptable for second reference
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
