Description
Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs
Highlights:
- 36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level of care
- Patient population includes solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 for PCU patients, 1:4-5 for Med-Surg Telemetry patients
- Epic charting system with GE telemetry monitoring, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
- Oncology experience preferred but not required; ICU and PCU backgrounds welcome
- 72-hour comprehensive orientation provided
- Strong interdisciplinary support including Pharmacy, Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy, and Rapid Response Teams
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of current PCU experience
- Current certifications: BLS (BCLS), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
- Epic charting system experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line management, PCA pumps, cardiac drip management, chest tube care, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
- Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership)
- Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Preferred Skills:
- Chemotherapy administration and monitoring experience
- IV and insulin drip titration protocols
- Wound care and wound vac management
- Arterial line management
- Phlebotomy skills

Additional Information:
This is a travel nursing assignment with competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. Candidates must be responsive during the credentialing process and prepared to complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements immediately upon contract signing. Weekend shifts are variable based on unit needs, and one pre-approved time off request is permitted per contract. Former employees may apply if they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more.

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
