Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Acute Leukemia and Hematology – Ohio

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts. Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs. Weekend coverage varies based on unit requirements. No set or blocked scheduling.

Highlights:

• 24-bed acute leukemia and hematology unit specializing in newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
• High-acuity medical unit with extensive blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
• Goal staffing ratio of 1:4 patients; may extend to 1:5 based on census
• Epic electronic medical record system with telemetry monitoring (GE system)
• 13-week contract with 72 hours of orientation and comprehensive interdisciplinary support team
• Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention strategies

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of overall nursing experience required
• Current medical-surgical oncology experience and at least 1 year of inpatient hematology oncology experience required
• Recent acute care experience (actively working in specialty within the last 12 months) is mandatory
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Valid compact or Ohio state RN license required at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation, IV therapy, central line management, PICC line care, blood product administration, and chemotherapy monitoring
• Must be available to float to other medical-surgical oncology units as needed
