Description
Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights or nights only based on unit needs); variable weekend coverage; staffing ratio goal of 1:4, may extend to 1:5
Highlights:
- Specialized acute leukemia unit serving newly diagnosed patients with a high volume of blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
- EPIC charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and social services
- Rotating shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs
- 72-hour orientation with strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention
- 24-bed medical-surgical oncology unit serving adult and geriatric patient populations
- One block of pre-approved time off available during contract
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
- Current inpatient hematology-oncology experience within the last 12 months (required)
- Medical-surgical oncology experience and leukemia/blood dyscrasias experience (required)
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- BLS, ACLS, and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification (required)
- NIHSS certification (preferred)
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, and feeding tube care
- 2 professional references required (at least 1 must be from a manager or director)

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
