Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 30, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week; weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays

Highlights:

• Abdominal transplant unit specializing in kidney, liver, and pancreas transplants

• Minimum 1 year of PCU/stepdown experience required; first-time travelers welcome

• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (current and valid)
• Minimum 1 year of progressive care/stepdown experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, central line management, port access, PICC line care, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Two professional references required (at least one must be from a manager, director, or formal supervisor)
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing

Clinical Focus:

• Care for transplant patients including kidney, liver, and pancreas recipients
• Management of rejection episodes, infections, acute kidney injury, and uncontrolled diabetes
• Hepatology and GI bleed patients
• Post-procedure care including kidney biopsy recovery and paracentesis
• IV insulin protocols and complex medication management
• Non-invasive airway management and oxygen therapy
