Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Burn & Reconstructive Care Unit – Texas

Start Date: August 28, 2026

Location: San Antonio, Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required, no on-call. Patient ratio 1:3-4.

Highlights:

  • Specialized 22-bed Burn and Reconstructive Care Unit with Progressive Care Unit (PCU) overflow capabilities
  • Diverse case mix including burn patients, reconstructive procedures, stroke, and cardiac patients in PCU status
  • Collaborative team environment with Free Float Charge Nurse, RNs, and Patient Care Technicians supporting each shift
  • Meditech EMR system with standard unit equipment
  • Floating to PCU, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical zones as needed
  • Navy blue scrub dress code

Requirements:

  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or ability to obtain prior to start date
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Experience with burn care, reconstructive procedures, and critical care preferred
  • Proficiency in dressing changes and wound care management
  • Independent, self-directed work style with strong clinical judgment
  • Ability to care for off-service patients including stroke and cardiac populations
