Job Opportunity – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts / 36 hours per week / Rotating day and night schedule (4 weeks days / 4 weeks nights). Float requirements may apply to other units within the organization as needed.

Highlights:

  • Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2, ensuring focused, high-quality critical care
  • EPIC charting system utilized throughout the facility
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and more
  • Specialized experience with complex cases including multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, and renal failure
  • State-of-the-art equipment including NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pumps, GE cardiac monitors and ventilators, and boom lifts in each patient room
  • Contract allows for up to two pre-approved time-off periods

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU nursing experience required
  • Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • EPIC charting system experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS (BCLS), ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
  • Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management
  • Competency with continuous IV sedation and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and ventilated patients
  • Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference
  • Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
  • Must be available to complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous travel nursing experience
  • Advanced proficiency in EPIC documentation
  • Experience with continuous glucose monitoring for hyperglycemia management
  • Familiarity with specialized COVID-19 protocols including externalized IV pumps

  • Former employees eligible after 6+ months away from the facility
  • Current employees are not eligible for travel positions
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Parking permits available for purchase; multiple options ranging from annual surface lot permits to monthly garage access
