Description
Start Date: November 30, 2026
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week with self-scheduling flexibility; variable weekend coverage required; no block scheduling or on-call required
Highlights:
- Work in a 181-bed pediatric facility and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- 18-bed PICU unit with average daily census of 15 patients
- Manageable 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios across all shifts
- Epic charting system in a supportive, interdisciplinary team environment
- May float to Pediatric Med/Surg and NICU units
- One-year contract; first-time travelers welcome
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of PICU nursing experience required
- Active compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with 1:2 patient ratios
- Proficiency in critical pediatric skills including ventilator management, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP, hemodynamic monitoring, IV vasopressors, interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias, and care of chest tubes
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
