Job Opportunity – Surgical Step Down Registered Nurse – Michigan

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, every other weekend required. Holiday rotation includes Thanksgiving and one additional winter holiday.

Highlights:

  • High-acuity surgical step-down unit with fast-paced environment ideal for clinicians with critical care backgrounds
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1 to 4:1, providing opportunity for meaningful patient engagement
  • Exposure to complex surgical cases with diverse medical devices including chest tubes, arterial lines, PICC lines, central lines, ostomies, trachs, NG tubes, wound vacs, and various drains
  • IV drip experience required: Heparin, Insulin, Nitro, Amiodarone, and Cardizem
  • Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
  • Contract-based opportunity with competitive compensation package

Requirements:

  • Active Michigan RN license or compact state license with ability to obtain Michigan licensure
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Strong surgical or ICU background preferred
  • Proficiency managing multiple high-acuity medical devices and IV infusions
  • Epic electronic medical record experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to work night shift and holiday rotation
