Description
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 1845-0715. 36 or 48 hours per week accepted. Every other weekend required. Float required. Contract lengths of 13-26 weeks available. Must be able to work holidays and 2 of 3 major holidays.
Highlights:
- Dedicated neuro unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- 24-hour orientation provided with experienced preceptors
- Electronic medical records via EPIC; medication management through Pyxis
- 24-bed unit focused on general medicine with neurological emphasis
- Up to 7 days of approved time off during contract (no holidays)
- First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Neuro experience required
- Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred
- Proficiency with IV starts and maintenance, peripheral line care, and non-invasive airway management
- EKG testing competency required prior to start
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Additional Information:
- Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events or disasters
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Pre-start online modules (approximately 8-10 hours) must be completed before first shift
- All pre-employment testing must be completed within 48 hours after acceptance
- Floating within and near the facility may be required based on operational needs
