Description
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: West Texas
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Self-scheduling with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period; 48-hour shifts approved; no on-call required; patient ratios 1:2-4
Highlights:
- Level IV NICU within a 181-bed pediatric specialty facility and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- Treat complex neonatal cases including prematurity, respiratory distress, surgical subspecialties (excluding cardiac), HIE, and sepsis
- Epic EMR charting system with 12-hour orientation provided
- Variable self-scheduling model with flexibility for extended contracts beyond 13 weeks
- Average daily census of 35 patients across 43-bed unit
- Potential to float PRN to Pediatrics, PICU, or Pediatric ED as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
- Level III or Level IV NICU experience strongly preferred
- Active RN license (Compact license accepted)
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- Proficiency in advanced neonatal skills including ventilator management, high-frequency ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, arterial line management, central line care, thermoregulation, and administration of vasopressors
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Two professional references covering one year of experience within the last three years
