Description
Start Date: October 26, 2026
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend; patient ratio 1:4-5 on a 16-bed telemetry unit; no call required
Highlights:
- Specialized cardiac telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including CHF, MI/chest pain, dysrhythmias, hypertension/hypotension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and vascular conditions
- Epic EMR system required; additional experience with Pyxis and SBAR communication protocols
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Contract length flexible with orientation hours provided; first-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years of experience
- Maximum 7 days of requested time off available; blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4-12)
- Holiday expectations: work major holidays that fall within assignment period per facility policy
Requirements:
- Current Georgia or Compact RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience managing patient ratios of 1:5
- Proficiency in cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, pre/post cardiac catheterization care, chest tube management, central line care, and managing cardiac/vasoactive drips without titration (milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, cardizem, lidocaine, bumex, heparin)
- Skills in blood product administration, PCA pumps, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, wound care/wound vac, and post-procedure monitoring
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only); full compliance documentation due prior to start date
