Description
Start Date: October 26, 2026
Location: Flint, Michigan
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Weekday schedule with minimal weekend coverage required (only when minimum weekday staffing is not available). No on-call responsibilities.
Highlights:
- Comprehensive tissue processing including fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining
- Utilize microtome and cryostat equipment for precise tissue preparation
- Engage in quality control procedures and laboratory management responsibilities
- Perform equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal laboratory operations
- Primarily weekday schedule with excellent work-life balance
- Opportunity to work with human, animal, and plant tissue samples
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Histotechnician
- HT (Histotechnician) or HTL (Histotechnologist) certification through ASCP required
- Current ASCP certification documentation must be provided
- Proficiency in tissue fixation, processing, embedding, sectioning, mounting, and staining techniques
- Strong understanding of quality control procedures and corrective action protocols
- Experience with equipment maintenance and laboratory supply management
