Description
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Nights, 3x12 or 4x12 schedule, with every other weekend required
Highlights:
- High-volume, high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit averaging 7 deliveries daily, with up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
- Charge Nurse position with leadership responsibilities in a 17-bed unit featuring 10 OB triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
- Epic charting system in a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility recognized as the Best Hospital in Alaska by U.S. News & World Report
- 13 or 26-week assignment with 60 guaranteed hours per 2-week pay period
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Opportunities to manage complex OB cases including multiple gestations, pre-eclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, and neonatal resuscitation
Requirements:
- Active Alaska RN license (must be in hand for immediate consideration; pending licenses accepted for screening)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Previous Charge Nurse experience required or willingness to train for charge responsibilities
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and AWHONN Advanced
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
- Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declinations not accepted)
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
