# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care / Telemetry RN – West Texas

Schedule:

12-hour shifts with rotating weekends (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule); Self-scheduling model; Patient ratios 1:3-4 days/nights, 1:5 weekends; No on-call required; Float between units as needed

Highlights:

- Work in a specialized Progressive Care Unit serving as an all-telemetry unit within a 379-bed Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center- Manage diverse patient populations including stroke/TIA, trauma, epilepsy monitoring (4 designated EEG beds), and neurosurgical post-op patients- Utilize EPIC electronic health record system in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with strong interdisciplinary support- Care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips (Cardene, Heparin with titration capability), central line management, and blood product administration- 12-hour orientation period with dedicated qualified mentors to ensure successful onboarding- First-time travelers welcome; Weekend rotation built into standard scheduling

Requirements:

- Current RN license (Compact license accepted and preferred)- Minimum 2 years of progressive care or telemetry nursing experience- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS- Experience with 1:4 patient ratios in acute care settings- Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management- Skills required: central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, cardiac drip management and titration (insulin, heparin protocols), vasoactive drip management, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, and rapid response/code team collaboration- Level II Trauma Center experience preferred- Community hospital experience preferred- 2 professional references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years
