Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN – Ohio

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week; includes weekdays and some weekends (3-4 weekend days per month)

Highlights:

• Med-Surg/Telemetry unit with 6 transitional PCU beds (PCU experience not required)
• 4:1 patient ratio across all shifts
• EPIC EMR system utilized for documentation
• 27-bed unit with daily census of 23 patients serving adult and geriatric populations
• 36-hour orientation period provided
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

• Active Ohio RN license (compact or state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
• IV certification required
• EPIC charting experience strongly preferred
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and multitasking abilities
• Travel nursing experience is a plus
• Willingness to float to lower acuity units as needed
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)

Key Responsibilities:

• Start and maintain IVs and manage peripheral lines and PICC lines
• Administer medications safely and monitor patient vital signs and responses
• Care for patients with general medical conditions including organ failure, substance withdrawal, chest tubes, and isolation precautions
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias in a telemetry setting
• Perform bedside procedures including Foley catheterization, IV antibiotics administration, and assistance with paracentesis and lumbar punctures
• Educate patients and families on treatments and self-care strategies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as appropriate
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC EMR system
