Job Description for EP Lab Technician (Electrophysiology Lab Technician)\nPosition Title: Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Technician\n\nJob Overview: An Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Technician is responsible for assisting physicians and healthcare teams in diagnosing and treating patients with heart rhythm disorders by conducting tests and procedures within the electrophysiology lab. EP Lab Techs work closely with electrophysiologists and cardiologists to monitor patients during cardiac procedures, including catheter ablations, electrophysiology studies, and device implants.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nPrepare and Maintain Equipment: Ensure all electrophysiology equipment is in proper working order before and after procedures, including setting up, testing, and troubleshooting the equipment.\n\nPatient Preparation: Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, setting up monitoring devices, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.\n\nAssist During Procedures: Support the physician during electrophysiology studies, catheter ablations, and device implantation by monitoring patient vital signs, assisting in the placement of catheters, and handling other procedural instruments.\n\nRecord and Analyze Data: Monitor and record patient data, including heart rhythm, electrocardiograms (ECGs), and other important metrics during procedures.
