Respiratory Therapists are skilled in using equipment like ventilators, oxygen therapy, and other devices to assist patients with breathing difficulties.\n\nCommon Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nPatient Assessment: Evaluate patients with breathing difficulties or cardiopulmonary issues by reviewing their medical history, conducting physical exams, and interpreting diagnostic tests such as blood gases, chest X-rays, and pulmonary function tests.\n\nRespiratory Care: Administer treatments to improve breathing, such as oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, chest physiotherapy, and inhalation therapy (e.g., nebulizer treatments).\n\nEquipment Management: Set up and monitor equipment like ventilators, oxygen tanks, CPAP machines, and other respiratory devices.
