Description
Job Summary:
The X-ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations using X-ray equipment, ensuring high-quality images, and maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and position patients for X-ray procedures, ensuring safety and comfort.
Operate and maintain X-ray equipment, following safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure.
Capture high-quality diagnostic images for physician review and diagnosis.
Verify patient identity and review medical history prior to procedures.
Maintain accurate patient records, imaging logs, and documentation.
Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
Perform routine quality control checks on equipment.
Comply with all federal, state, and facility-specific guidelines and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification preferred or required (depending on state).
CPR certification.
Strong communication skills and patient care abilities.
Proficiency in using medical imaging software and technology.
Licensing and Certification Requirements by State:

California – Requires certification by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH-RHB).
Texas – Requires certification through the Texas Medical Board.
New York – Licensure required; must be registered with the NYS Department of Health.
Florida – Requires licensure from the Florida Department of Health.
Massachusetts – Requires state licensure.
Illinois – Requires accreditation through the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.
Ohio – Licensure through the Ohio Department of Health.

Oregon – Licensure required through the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging.
